# 日本的年号是什么？

## 什么是年号？

日本除了公历，也使用“年号”（日语称“元号”）纪年。 阅读历史资料、参观博物馆或填写文件时，都可能遇到这种写法。

古时改元的原因不只包括天皇更替，也可能与灾害等事件有关。 明治以后采用“一世一元”的原则，天皇更替时改元。 平成在2019年结束，随后改为令和。

## 近现代年号与公历

改元可能发生在年中，所以同一个公历年可能对应两个年号。 例如1989年先是昭和64年，之后是平成元年。 “昭和64年”是纪年名称，并不表示昭和持续了完整的64年。
